Impossible Frames

Project & exhibition

For Ray-Ban’s Impossible Frames exhibition at Art Basel Paris 2026, we created a series exploring the future of eyewear. The work was exhibited at the Grand Palais in Paris, with the fair open to the public from 23 to 25 October 2026.

The exhibition invited artists to set aside conventional limits of materials, structure and function. Our contribution explores that brief through the relationship between the human body, technology and identity.

Design description

IMPOSSIBLE FRAMES takes inspiration from a world where technology and design are becoming increasingly personal, adaptive and embedded into the way we live.

The work imagines what happens when eyewear follows that same evolution. Instead of remaining an object placed on the face, it starts to respond to the individual. Its structure adapts to the body. Optics become integrated. Materials move closer to skin, tissue and biology.

What begins as a frame incrementally becomes part of the wearer.

A visual representation of a future where design is shaped around us and technology becomes increasingly inseparable from identity, perception and human anatomy.
